Wolcott Mill Metropark is one of thirteen metroparks comprising the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

Here are some of the offerings of Wolcott Mill Metropark:

Camp Rotary

Kids love the daily trips at Camp Rotary, located on the Clinton River. The kids and staff wander through the forest and meadows during the day. There are overnight camps available for organized youth groups.

Southeast Michigan is beautiful, and the night sky offers amazing astronomical events.

Camp Hours: 9am-8pm

Camping

Scout groups and other youth organizations can camp under the stars in tents and enjoy the nature of Wolcott Mill Metropark.

There are options for renting the Shorian Lodge, Day Camp Rates, and Tent Camping Rates.

Educational Opportunities

The Wolcott Mill Metropark Farm Center is the only public farm to see all six heritage breeds of dairy cows. The 250 acre working farm has live animals including cows, chicken, goats, pigs, sheep, ducks, and horses.

There are programs on a variety of subjects such as milk, lamb, and wool production, soil and water conservation, sustainable agriculture, food processing and modern farming.

Historic Center

1847 to 1967, the grist and feed mill operated and the barn served as a stable, and later as a sales area.

The machinery in the mill is all original and was left in place when it was shut down in 1967.

The barn is now a museum featuring the history of American barns, antique buggies, farming equipment and tools.

Hiking

The Wolcott Mill Metropark has great hiking trails through the wooded areas and along the river. Many visitors often choose to hike through the lane at the farm.

Fishing

There is great fishing for bluegills at the pond on the Farm. On the banks of the North Branch of the Clinton River there are smallmouth bass, suckers or panfish. A Michigan Fishing license is required.

Play Areas

Kids and families love to visit our playground located at the Farm Center.

Picnicking

The amazing scenery and lush woodlands near the Clinton River is a perfect place for a picnic. There are two picnic shelters at the farm for quieter group gatherings. The Camp Rotary near the river is also a great place for a picnic with friends, family, or organized groups.

Picnic Shelter Reservations are available for formal gatherings.
